My name is Ozymandias...

Well I am officially excited, I can't wait for this to come out, global recession be damned!

I have waited soooo long for this movie to be made and now finally (legal wranglings aside) it looks like it's here.

Next march can't come too soon, maybe I'll get a Watchmen tattoo to celebrate - always wanted Doctor Manhattans hydrogen sign on my forehead...

If this movie is half as good as it looks it will be earth shatteringly awesome in its awesomeness, who knows maybe even Alan Moore will give it his seal of approval.

SAD

I am unnaturally excited about Heroes season 3, after season 2 descended into farce, episodes 1-3 of the new season have been superb and given me hope and another reason to live - right kids! Can't wait for Tuesday so I can download episode 4. It's just the tonic (along with lots of tea and cake OR biscuits OR donuts OR a combination of all three) to keep me through long British winter which has started to bite, an even as the credit crunch limits my social movements to those of hamster at least I can watch quality US TV the audio-visual equivalent of a SAD lamp to beat the blues.

Lucha libre!

Love this work, something really, look at this little fella, how cool is he, and the paintings are really haunting almost otherworldly, I wonder what's inside her head apart from talent.

Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it

"Primarily this is because rulers of the exchange of mankind's goods have failed through their own stubbornness and their own incompetence, have admitted their failure, and have abdicated. Practices of the unscrupulous money changers stand indicted in the court of public opinion, rejected by the hearts and minds of men. True they have tried, but their efforts have been cast in the pattern of an outworn tradition. Faced by failure of credit they have proposed only the lending of more money. Stripped of the lure of profit by which to induce our people to follow their false leadership, they have resorted to exhortations, pleading tearfully for restored confidence....The money changers have fled from their high seats in the temple of our civilization. We may now restore that temple to the ancient truths. The measure of the restoration lies in the extent to which we apply social values more noble than mere monetary profit." - FDR, 1933, sound familiar anyone? Clearly the pursuit of wealth for wealth's sake is a trivial one, but a lesson we have yet to learn. I'm sure FDR is spinning in his grave.

Bruce Parry is my hero!

Gotta love a guy who can throw up and present a TV show at the same time, hardcore! Do they teach that in the marines? No wonder we have the best army in the world if they are trained by people like Bruce.  Then there's the imbibing of mind altering substances...Some of the finest TV ever made! Bruce you rock

"I am Godzilla! You are Japan!"

Today the last rays of summer bathed London in artificial optimism as the world continues to scratch its balls and the capitalist experiment is shown up for the sham it is. It amazes me that we all just sit around and hope the for the best whilst our leaders bail out rich bankers with our tax money, damn are we stupid or what.

Ah well, time to plan a new tattoo, I am thinking of a Nietzsche quote, something like 'when you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you' or 'He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster'. Or maybe I'll go for the katakana text for Gojira...hmmmm. And what the fuck was up with Godzuki?

I squish your head!

Well the world hasn't ended yet that's tomorrow but there is a new iPod Nano which looks really cool so at least that's something.

Film of the year so far 'The Wackness', I graduated art school in '94 so the soundtrack just rules...if you don't love it then you don't deserve ears, buy it, steal it, whatever it takes.
